The Scaligero Castle that dominates the town offers magnificent views both over the waters of Lake Garda and the medieval area of the town, within which is located the Pariani museum which documents the historical undertaking by the Venetians to transport the fleet from the gulf of Venice to Lake Garda. The Palazzo dei capitani, or Captains’ Palace, once the residence of the Captain of the lake, was declared a national monument in 1902 with its magnificent frescoes and ceiling inside. To see the hermitage of Saints Benigno and Caro you have to walk for about 3 hours through the wonderful countryside of Monte Baldo. The natural history museum houses rich photographic documentation of the fauna and flora on Monte Baldo. The eighteenth century parish church of Santo Stefano and the church of the Madonna del Rosario are worth a visit. You should certainly take a ride on the Monte Baldo cable car (1800 m), the only one in the world that has rotating cabins.
