You can practice many sports in Malcesine, in actual fact, there is no shortage of open air pitches and courts for basketball, football and tennis, but the main attraction for sporty people are the water sports. Lake Garda has an abundance of fish and with an ordinary angling licence you can catch all kinds of freshwater fish. Early in the morning windsurfing is ideal, with the Peler (wind from the north) which blows quite strongly and creates waves that, considering this is a lake, are quite respectable, during the day the windsurfing schools offer plenty of opportunity for learning this wonderful sport. You can sail with the Navene Sailing Club and there is also the opportunity to learn to Kitesurf or dive. In the areas belonging to the provinces of Verona and Brescia there is no restriction on the use of motorboats, so you can hire a motorboat or jet ski. If you would like to do some walking, trekking or cycling, Monte Baldo offers many itineraries of various levels, all with breathtaking views of Lake Garda and the natural landscape that surrounds you. Nordic walking has become quite popular in Malcesine and once you reach the top you can take off with a paraglider.

From the centre of Malcesine you can take the Monte Baldo cable car to where you can ski with a magnificent view of Lake Garda, but if the slopes of Monte Baldo are not enough you can use the shuttle bus to the ski resort of Polsa – San Valentino. What is more, if you would like to take a walk with snow shoes up to the refuge you can admire the wonderful landscape that surrounds you.
